BURGUNDY, FRANCE - RED - GAMAY
At the foot of the rolling vineyards of Moulin-à-Vent, Domaine Diochon has been making Beaujolais the old-fashioned way since 1935. This medium dark reddish-purple wine despite being unlined and unfiltered. It opens with scents of blackberries, blueberries, earthy clay, black cherry. The flavors carry over and add red cherry, strawberry, leather, minerals, flint and finish with a touch of smoke. Bright acidity structured with ample tannins but not heaviness.
