As much of Oregon was blanketed with smoke from wildfires, brix development came to a stop. The muscat from the rizzo vineyard (organic, planted in 2000) in the Eola-Amity Hills was harvested in the middle of much-needed rains, clusters swelling but intact from smoke. It was fermented to dryness on its skins for nine days and was raised in stainless steel. due to the unique harvest conditions alcohol was 8.4 upon completion. twenty percent of the finished wine is a co fermented blend of chardonnay and sauvignon blanc which boosted abv 1.5% and lends the delicate wine a little structure.
