Nuns under the guidance of legendary winemaker Giampero Bea making delicious natural wine in the heart of Italy. The white wine they produce is unconventional and borders on orange because of the longer than usual skin contact. Poured out of the bottle it takes on the clear shade of holy water, in the glass; a restrained pale yellow. On the nose there is some light applewood and white flowers, maybe a forest by the sea, where it’s calm and sandy. It’s rich, chalky, with a light key lime lemon cake in there somewhere, but it’s just slightly sweet, soft, and milky. I’m calmed after a glass and I’m rewarded when I bring it back up to my lips.
